  • Trials
I recommend booking in for a trial at least 1-3 months prior to your wedding date. Trials usually last 2 hours. At the trial we can go through your ideas and themes for the day working together to come up with a look for you. We will also discuss specifics and timings to ensure a smooth running schedule on the wedding day. I take photos and detailed notes of your wedding look and will provide you with a time/running schedule for the wedding morning, once the trial has been completed. Members of your bridal party may of course book a trial if they wish. Trials are available on weekdays and evenings. Weekend trials are subject to availability, especially during peak wedding season. Trials usually take place at my home in St Albans, however I am happy to travel to you. Travel expenses will be charged if travelling to you for your trial. Remember to bring along any inspiration images to the trial of how you would like your makeup on the day, this will help me get a feel for your look. This can include any images of your dress, hair, accessories, even your venue and wedding themes. I will be in touch prior to the trial to request inspiration images and a selfie of yourself. If you have no idea where to start or need some extra help with how to have your makeup please see my Pinterest and Instagram for bridal inspiration.
  • On the day
On the day I will travel to your venue, home or hotel at the pre-arranged time to assist you and your bridal party to get ready for the big day. Generally speaking it is preferred to get the members of the bridal party ready first, and then the bride although this is flexible depending upon what is best on the day. I like to allow extra time for any touch ups, unforeseen circumstances and most importantly fun! If you would like me to stay on for the remainder of the day for touch ups or a makeup change, please let me know when booking to discuss arrangements and any additional charge.
  • How do I book?
If you are interested in booking with me, please send over your details through my contact form. Please include as many details as possible. Including name, bridal party numbers, services required, date, venue/location. Once I have received this information, I will be able to check that your date is available and send over my brochure and any further information. • Help! I need makeup inspiration!
For bridal hair and makeup inspiration please feel free to check out my Pinterest and Instagram! Here are some useful things to consider when when planning how to wear your makeup: How do you wear your makeup everyday or on a night out? How do you feel most comfortable wearing your makeup? What time of year are you getting married? Will it be hot or cold? As this can help determine a look and products used. Are you going to remember to touch up your makeup throughout the day? If not then perhaps a low maintence look is better suited? Remember to take into consideration your dress, theme, venue and flowers.
  • Bridal beauty advice
Makeup is there to enhance your natural beauty, so in the lead up to your wedding it is really important to start looking after your skin. If your skin is glowing and in good condition, then it gives the makeup a great base to work on. These points may seem obvious, but they are the sort of questions I am always asked by brides. So to get you started here are some essential bridal beauty tips... Start by getting a good skincare routine in place, I can help with recommending products suitable to your skin type and what sort of routine you should follow at the trial. The earlier you start the better. If you have time and can afford it - book in to have some facials suitable for your skin type to get you glowing for the big day. I also offer holistic bespoke facials suited to your skin type, please let me know if this is something you would like to book. Alternativley try doing your own at home. Not only will it leave your skin looking gorgeous, it is a lovely way to unwind and destress from all the wedding planning! However remember to not have your last facial in the week before your wedding in case of any adverse reactions or pesky pimples. Any beauty treatments such as tanning, eyebrow threading or lash extensions make sure you do a trial run well in advance to ensure it’s right for you and you like how the therapist has carried it out. If you do decide to go for any of these treatments, again try not to get them done in the last few days before the wedding. You don’t want any last minute beauty disasters. Drink plenty of water and eat a healthy balanced diet with plenty of greens, this will really help your skin look fab! To make sure your makeup is kept looking fresh throughout the big day once I have left carry your lipstick or gloss, powder and blush in your bag for touch ups. Or leave with one of your bridesmaids to be in charge of touch ups.
  • COVID-19 Protocols
This policy has been devised to keep you and I as safe as possible and should be read in conjunction with my current Terms & Conditions. PPE (a mask and visor) will be worn to ensure both parties are kept free from risk. If you would prefer that I wear a disposable apron and gloves, please advise. Please be aware due to the extra hygiene measure being taken your appointments may take a little longer than usual. I will ensure enough time has been allocated to allow for this. Clients MUST fully sanitise their hands before their appointments (both trial and wedding day) and report any symptoms of COVID-19 to their makeup artist. Please note for all appointments client’s temperature will be taken using a non-contact digital thermometer, if your temperature is high (above 37.8c) unfortunately no makeup will be provided to you. Clients must refrain from touching the makeup artist’s kit to avoid any risk of contamination and leave personal belongs such as mobile phones, bags etc. away from the workspace. Sadly, I will be unable to provide any refreshments at this time. Bottled water will be available if required. Please only one client at appointments, unless otherwise arranged. On your wedding day please keep numbers around the artists workspace to a bare minimum. Please ensure the workspace is well ventilated and there is enough space to work. At this time only payments by bank transfer will be accepted. If I feel ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, I will self-isolate immediately. This may mean that I need to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or in the case of being your wedding day, an alternative trusted artist will be offered as a replacement who will be able to replicate my work using my photos and notes and you will receive a full refund (minus trial payment). If YOU/OR ANYONE IN YOUR WEDDING PARTY OR HOUSEHOLD display any symptoms of COVID-19, please advise me as soon as possible as I will not be able to visit you. If you have fully paid your balance, your money minus deposit will be refunded (minus trial payment). Should government guidelines change at short notice due to the ever-changing nature of the virus and any appointments need to be cancelled, I will do my absolute best to reschedule any appointments and accommodate any new wedding dates. Should I not be available for any new dates, an alternative trusted artist will be offered. Should I not be available for any new dates and your balance has been fully paid, your money minus deposit will be refunded (minus trial payment).
